I am a PhD student at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Bangalore. I am fascinated by plants and their interactions with organisms in the soil. I’m happiest when I’m out in the open doing field work, or talking to people to whom these spaces belong, learning about their lives and culture. I also have an interest in ancient Indian literature and science, and have spent some time in the past studying Sanskrit and old Kannada texts on plant sciences. I love Carnatic music, and spend a lot of time listening to it; and have found it to be a medium that opens up strange new worlds, and connects me deeply to a certain someone who otherwise does very different things… like math.
